William (Bill) P. Havekost, BA, MA
Vice President - Hospice
Mr. Havekost has been a healthcare executive for over 27 years. His background includes leadership for a large regional hospice prior to founding Care Initiatives Hospice as a state-wide network of not-for-profit hospices. Mr. Havekost is a Past Chair of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Standards Committee and Past President of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa.
Patricia (Pat) M. Olsen, RN, BSN, MPA, CHPN
Clinical Director
Ms. Olsen has been an active member of the hospice community since founding a volunteer hospice over 27 years ago. She has developed and led clinical programming for multiple hospices prior to joining Care Initiatives Hospice upon its founding. While still focused on her work in the field of hospice care, Ms. Olsen also found time to open and operate a retail business during her career. She is a past presenter for conferences of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa. Ms. Olsen is a certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
Cynthia (Cindy) L. Williams, BSW
Staff and Volunteer Engagement Director
Ms. Williams brings over 25 years of healthcare experience to the Care Initiatives Hospice leadership team, the last 7 in hospice care. She built a small hospital-based pain clinic into a large regional provider with a national reputation prior to becoming a hospice volunteer leader and advocate. Ms. Williams possesses a certification in volunteer leadership and has made progress toward a Master's degree in organizational management.
Kristin L. Paris, RN, CHPN
Care Initiatives Hospice - Albia Team Director
Ms. Paris has worked in healthcare over 21 years and in hospice care for more than 14 years. She led the development of a small hospital-based hospice earlier in her career prior to joining Care Initiatives Hospice. She is an active volunteer leader for the Albia Community School District and Monroe County Little League. Ms. Paris is a certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
Dustie J. Burton, RN
Care Initiatives Hospice - Greenfield Team Director
Ms. Burton has worked in healthcare over 13 years. Prior to joining Care Initiatives Hospice, she was a registered nurse for a large regional hospice. Ms. Burton is a recipient of the Spirit of Nursing award from the Army Corps of Engineers and volunteers her time in horseback riding at the Wildwood Hills Ranch in St. Charles.
Miriam M. Yocum, RN, CHPN
Care Initiatives Hospice - Des Moines Team Director
Ms. Yocum has been a leader in hospice care for over 23 years. She has experience in both home care and hospice facility leadership. Ms. Yocum developed and opened a $6 million, 24-bed hospice facility in a prior position. She is a current board member of Zion Lutheran Church and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Ms. Yocum is a certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
Deborah (Deb) K. Korver, RN, CHPN
Care Initiatives Hospice - Sioux City Team Director
Ms. Korver brings over 16 years of experience to the Sioux City area. She has worked for out-of-state hospices and witnessed multiple processes for assuring and certifying quality hospice care. Ms. Korver is often a school volunteer in the Correctionville area.
Angela (Angie) Deters, RN, CHPN
Care Initiatives Hospice - Waterloo Team Director
Ms. Deters has worked in healthcare for over 27 years. She has worked as a healthcare leader for more than 8 years including participation in initiating two different hospice locations. Ms. Deters is an active Sunday School teacher. She is a certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
